Eleven Wonderful Years!!!

On July 28th, Mike and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary.  Hard to believe we have been married for 11 years already.  We spent the day together as a family.  It was a terrific day full of fun, family, laughter and love.  After the kids finished their early morning swimming lessons we headed to the Minnesota Zoo.  It was once again an extremely hot day but the kids were such troopers and we made our way through the entire zoo.  We ended the day in the splash pad at the zoo.  Dinner was take out from a Korean restaurant that we have been wanting to try for a long time.  It did not disappoint.

Happy Anniversary Mike!  I can't wait to see what the next 11 years bring.  I love you!!!

Kyle accidentally dropped his zoo map over the side of the prairie dog enclosure.  At first, he was so sad to have lost his map until he realized the map was like a new toy to the prairie dogs.  We had a blast watching them play with it.  It was a highlight of our day.

 So tired!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Family Day 2011

On July 23rd, we celebrated our very first family day.  Family Day marks the anniversary of Lauren joining our family.  One year ago, we said our final goodbyes to her home country and her wonderful foster mother, they put us in the "Love Mobile", placed Lauren in our arms, shut the door, and the adventure of life with our daughter began.  Because of the time change when flying from Korea to the US, we landed back in Minnesota to the smiling, crying, laughing faces of our two beautiful boys on that same date.  We were complete...our family was finally together.

So this year we marked Lauren's first family day surrounded by our loving extended family from North Carolina.  We attempted a parade in our city but it was rained out.  The weather cleared and we enjoyed a lovely (but hot) day at our city's annual festival.  Later in the day the kids hit the swimming pool and we snacked on pizza.  Despite have a busy day with our family, my mind would often wander back to Korea and those that love her there.

We love you Lauren MeeHyeon and we are so blessed to be a part of your family.

Como Town

The kids had a blast at Como Town with their cousins.  Como Town is an amusement park for children and part of the Como Zoo.  We went there with the idea of going on a few rides and seeing the animals.  But it was such a hot and humid day that we had to pace ourselves and ended up going on lots of rides and seeing only a few animals.  It was great to see the kids smile and hear them laugh out loud as they went on each of the rides over and over again.

A Day at the Beach

We live so close to a wonderful lake, that we had to enjoy a day (or should I say a few days?) at the beach with our out-of-state family.  The kids had fun splashing, swimming, digging in the sand, and trying to catch fish.  Who doesn't love a day at the beach (especially on a 100 degree day)?
