Rewind - Pumpkin Patch

Yes, once again I am so very far in behind in my postings.  Ah, but that is life with three little ones, right?  So let's rewind just a bit to our visit to the pumpkin patch on October 21st.  This was our very first visit ever to a pumpkin patch.  I know, can you believe it?  Let me explain a bit: my parents always grew things like pumpkins, so there was never a need to pay for a pumpkin.  This year, hail destroyed most of their pumpkins, so off to a local pumpkin patch we went, and it was so much fun that we plan to do it again next year.  Grandma Maggie and Grandpa Bill joined us on this chilly outing in search of the perfect pumpkins.

Our day began with Cameron leading us through the corn maze.  Let me tell you, he takes after his father with his great map reading skills.  Lauren slept through most of this part.

Then the hunt for the perfect pumpkins began.  The kids had so much fun picking out their very own pumpkin.

Our next stop was the small petting zoo.  Lauren wasn't so sure about the animals.  She loved to watch them, but didn't want them getting too close.

We then enjoyed some hot apple cider and walked around the farm.

Meeting Grandma Maggie and Grandpa Bill

Grandma Maggie and Grandpa Bill (Mike's parents) drove across the country in late October to visit. We are blessed that these two loving grandparents will do this for us, as traveling with the three little ones gets a bit hard. This was the first time that they met the newest addition to our family, Lauren. It was so special to see them holding her and she took to them almost immediately. She first went to Grandpa just like she did with her other grandfather.  We actually managed to capture their first moments with their new granddaughter on the camera.

Check out those cute little toes!

I think I like this guy!

Love at first sight - Grandma Maggie and Lauren

A few highlights from the week.  Grandparent's Day at Cameron's school along with Grandma Judy and Grandpa Al.  Dinner out at our favorite Korean restaurant (the staff loved Lauren), playing at the park, a visit to the pumpkin patch (look for a future post), checking out the new library for the Harvest Festival, and just playing together.  One last picture for your enjoyment:

Beautiful Fall Day at the Park

Who doesn't love a beautiful fall day at the park?

Cameron's favorite thing at the park is the monkey bars and balance beams.  He has incredible upper body strength and coordination.

Kyle loved to hang on the bars, go on the slide, and try to keep up with his big brother.

Lauren was content to practice her climbing on the benches, dig in the sand, and play with sticks.
