Easter 2011

It was wonderful to have Lauren home with us for her very first Easter as part of our family.  We had a great weekend filled with family, laughter, and lots and lots of candy.  Grandma Judy and Grandpa Al spent the weekend with us.  We decorated eggs, played lots of games, and were able to get outside a bit.  The Easter Bunny payed a special visit to our house and brought with him lots of candy and a few books.  The best part of the weekend was the egg hunt.  The kids loved looking for the eggs around our yard.  Lauren got right into it and knew just what she had to do.  She very much enjoyed all the chocolate...this girl LOVES chocolate.  On Sunday, we went to my brother's house (Dan and Tina) to celebrate Easter with my immediate family.  The kids enjoyed another egg hunt at their house and we all enjoyed a wonderful meal with our loved ones.  Happy Easter everyone!

NO SNOW!!!

This past winter will go down in history as the third snowiest winter in Minnesota.  We are all so very tired of the snow and cold.  We long to be outside and to bask in the sun.  Lauren is no exception.  A few days ago we had yet another April snow storm.  Lauren woke up with a big smile on her face until I opened her shades and showed her the falling white snow.  Her face soon turned sad and then she demanded "No Snow".  She was trying to will the snow away so she could do her very favorite thing - play outside.  All morning long she kept looking out the window and yelling for the snow to go away.  "No Snow, No Snow, No Snow" was heard over and over again from the lips of the cutest little girl in the world.  Maybe next time mother nature will listen to the wishes of a little girl.

Mommy can't you do anything about this?

Pigtails

Pigtails on little girls are so darn cute, in my opinion.  In order to achieve the perfect pigtails you need the right combination of a little girl who will sit still and long enough hair - neither of which describes Lauren.  Recently, she let me attempt pigtails on her and lets just say I need a bit more practice to get them done quickly given she is always on the go.  She still looked darn cute and loved laughing at herself in the mirror.  The look lasted all of 5 minutes before she pulled them out.
