One Year Ago

One year ago yesterday we finally laid eyes on our beautiful, adventurous, funny, strong-willed daughter.  We loved her from the moment we saw her pictures and read about her in her referral report, but to finally see her and hold her was amazing.  We will not lie, the first meeting was rough!  She didn't like us, she screamed, and she wanted only her loving foster mother.  Even though it was tough, that is the way it should have been, as we were stranagers.  Yes, we loved her but she didn't love us or know us.  We were taking her away from everything and everyone she knew.  But what a difference a year makes!  This little girl completes our family and we are so very lucky to have her in our lives.
