Thanksgiving Day 2011

Thanksgiving didn't quite turn out as we had planned.  We woke up Thanksgiving morning to a sick little girl, who was throwing up.  Mike kindly volunteered to stay home with her, while I took the boys to my hometown to spend the day with my mom's side of the family.  We had a wonderful time with my grandmother, parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and their children.  It was a small gathering of 35 or so.  Yes, this is small for my family.  We headed back home that afternoon with a quick stop at my brother and sister in law's house to drop of a Thanksgiving meal and take a peek at my new nieces.  It was a long day of driving but great to see everyone.  When we got home Lauren was feeling a bit better and it was an unseasonably warm day so we went for a walk after dinner.  Kyle brought his portable radio along and we stopped by a neighborhood Christmas light display that is set to music.  It was a beautiful way to end the day - a wonderful memory to cherish with our three children - the ones we are most thankful for.
