So today, out of the blue, we received a written update on MeeHyeon. It was from her 9 month well being check up on March 24, 2010. We are so thrilled to know that she is healthy and doing well under the care of her loving foster family. So what is new with Lauren? Read more to find out...
Mee Hyeon drinks 180cc of lukewarm formula every three hours. She is fed solids three times a day; she eats steamed rice and kelp soup, tofu, egg, etc. She eats well when fed these foods.
She is given a bath every other day and she likes being bathed.
Mee Hyeon falls asleep at 10:00 p.m. and gets up in a good mood at 6-7:00 a.m. She wakes up once in the middle of the night for a feeding.
She can say “umma” [Korean word for mommy], and “uhboobah” [Korean baby talk for hold me piggyback style] and she will imitate “jahk jahk koong” and “dohree dohree” when asked to do so. [These are Korean nursery rhyme-type songs with hand movements.]
She holds on to things and stands and walks [cruises]. She can stand on her own independently momentarily without holding on.
She uses her thumb and finger and is able to pick up small objects.
She has 2 teeth on the top and 3 on the bottom.

so great to hear updates--hopefully soon you won't need them because she will be home with you.
I am just now making it back to the blog world & see that you have received some very exciting updates! I am hoping that your travel call comes soon!
LOL, I think *every* update from Korea says that the baby likes being bathed! Maybe Korean babies just like baths a lot.
Also- I hadn't thought of this in a long time, but we have video of our son's foster mom playing the "jahk-jahk-goong" game with him; they clap the baby's hands together, like "pat-a-cake". I wonder what the words mean! :D
