In about one month we should be holding our baby girl. We received the most wonderful news today...Lauren's paperwork has been submitted to the Korean Ministry for EP on Monday, May 17, 2010. EP stands for Emmigration Permit - basically the Korean government will look over her paperwork and grant her permission to leave Korea and join our family. There are a few other steps after this with visas, passports, and a trip to the US Embassy for her. This is a big step because for the past 4 months, everything on the US side has been done, and we were just waiting for our turn in line, so to speak, on the Korea end.
Our agency estimates that we should receive our travel call in 4 to 6 weeks but added that things haven't been taking this long lately. I have seen some recent families move through this final paperwork phase in about 3 weeks. Its time for us to really get ready. Lauren, we can't wait to lay our eyes on you for the first time in person. Hold on baby mommy and daddy are coming!
