Year of the Snake

Happy Lunar New Year!!!  Welcome to the Year of the Snake.  We celebrated on Saturday (a day early) due to a predicted snow storm.  But it was already the new year in Korea, right?  Due to some kitchen remodeling, we dined out this year instead of enjoying my Korean cooking at home.  We were not disappointed with our choice of restaurants.  The owner/chef came out often to talk with us and make sure the kids were enjoying their food.  Lauren even ended the night by doing a traditional Korean bow to the chef which received cheers.  Earlier in the day, Lauren dawned her new pink hanbok that was given to us several years ago by our wonderful family friends in Korea.  Thank you Youn-Shick and family!  Lauren loves to wear her hanbok and dancing in it is her favorite thing.  She recently asked to take Korean dancing and drumming lessons.  She is so proud to be Korean and this fills our hearts with lots of joy.  May your new year be a blessed one!
